Summer Maternal and Child Health Programs Internship (Unpaid, Remote)

This intern will have the opportunity to assist Global Health Action’s Programs focusing on maternal, child and adolescent health and wellbeing programs and projects in Kenya, Haiti or other countries/regions. Topical areas include Community Health Assessment, Organizational development, Leadership development and Community Health programming development and Implementation. The intern may also support GHA’s Haiti Maternal and Child health programming. The selected applicant will have the opportunity to become exposed to pressing ethical issues in global health, become familiar with working with coalitions and collaborative concepts, and work with a supervisor who is interested in mentoring.  The timeframe for the internship is a minimum of 12 weeks (May  26 - August 15, 2025) for 20 hrs per week with the possibility of an extension. Mandatory Schedule: Tues & Thurs 10am - 2pm EST; Five Orientation days 10am-2pm. The position is remote with the option to be hybrid. Click here to listen to what our prior interns have to say.


Main job responsibilities include:
 Literature reviews
● Theory of Change
● Create and update course-related materials
● Compiling and analyzing research and evaluation data
● Logistic support for grants programs, reporting, trainings and technical assistance
● Writing reports
● Perform other duties as assigned
● Under direct or general supervision, performs a variety of tasks requiring limited independent judgment:
● May research, compile and prepare routine or ad-hoc reports
● May research and maintain records, files and logs
● May initiate or maintain contact with customers, vendors or contractors and respond to, research and resolve inquiries of a routine nature
● May organize meetings or other venues and arrange for logistical needs such as set up, handouts, reports, speakers and clean up
● May assist in developing, implementing and managing programs or projects

Qualifications:
 Highly qualified Undergraduate students; Graduate level student; preferably a MPH/MBA/MHA student
● Prior experience in public health/global health
● Strong research skills for literature reviews
● Must be able to work 20 hrs per week
● Knowledge of Asana, Excel or other project management software

● Ability to read, write and speak both English and French (Haitian Creole highly preferable) if applying to support the Haiti MCNH project
